²⁴ God raised him up, ending the pains of death,^(A) because it was not possible for him to be held by death.

⁴ Therefore we were buried with him by baptism into death,^(A) in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead^(B) by the glory of the Father,^(C) so we too may walk in newness^[a] of life.^(D)
