ZACCAI zăk’ ī (זַכָּ֔י). The name is prob. a contraction for Zechariah. 1. The name of a family of exiles who returned from the Babylonian captivity (Ezra 2:9; Neh 7:14); called Chorbe in 1 Esdras 5:12 (KJV CORBE). It is the origin of the name Zacchaeus (2 Macc 10:19 and NT).
2. The father of Baruch (Neh 3:20). The MT has Zabbai, but the Kere has Zaccai.
