¹⁰ “Thus shall you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah: ^(A)‘Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you by promising that Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

⁶ And he set combat commanders over the people and gathered them together to him in the square at the gate of the city and spoke ^(A)encouragingly to them, saying, ^7 (B)“Be strong and courageous. ^(C)Do not be afraid or dismayed before the king of Assyria and all the horde that is with him, ^(D)for there are more with us than with him. ⁸ With him is ^(E)an arm of flesh, ^(F)but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people took confidence from the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
