¹⁴ Then I said, ^(A)“Ah, Lord God! Behold, I have never defiled myself.^{[a] (B)}From my youth up till now I have never eaten ^(C)what died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has ^(D)tainted meat come into my mouth.”

¹³ And there came a voice to him: “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” ¹⁴ But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; ^(A)for I have never eaten anything that is ^(B)common or ^(C)unclean.”
