19 Promising unto them liberty, and are themselves the (A)servants of corruption: for of whomsoever a man is overcome, even unto the same is he in bondage.
20 (B)[a] For if they, after they have escaped from the filthiness of the world, through the acknowledging of the Lord, and of the Savior Jesus Christ, are yet tangled again therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have acknowledged the way of righteousness, than after they have acknowledged it, to turn from the holy commandment given unto them.
